If you want to learn social justice work and learning to work and build relationships with the community, you will get that experience.

They only want people who want to work, not slackers. They also have a strong organizational culture, so if you don't fit in, you will get axed. There's also no processes for how to run new programs so you are expected to create it but also do as leadership wants it. They claim they don't micro manage but they do. They do not reimburse for phone and mileage like other orgs. Many of these non profit leaders abuse the power they have.

Good if passionate about advocacy

Toxic, overworked, under appreciated, no work life balance . High employee turnover over due to the above. Lacks systems, structures and processes. They claim it’s a flat structure environment but a lot of micro managing and reporting by other staff who have been there longer and feel like they own the place. Work is shoved without guidance. Management have a different view of how actual work is carried out without understanding the real tasks on the ground. Culture and values preached but not practiced. They don’t reimburse mileage but expect you to be in every event however far it is.
