Pros

I was pleasantly surprised by the induction day in Bracknell as it seems there are good people in the organisation and they presented a vastly different picture to what I've seen onsite so far. Salary and holidays on offer are both good. Plenty of opportunities for flexible working. When interviewing I was surprised to see that people have remained with AMS for years, and they really sold the career development opportunities to me, which was one of the reasons to why I joined. See below for the con side of this statement. Plenty of accounts to work on in my sector and more wins coming.

Cons

The resourcing model structure at AMS is different to other RPO's and I'm not sure it's suited to me as an individual. My role is extremely transactional and not very challenging unfortunately. However, although I've addressed this with my manager, given my background is more broad and I could add value elsewhere, there doesn't seem to be much uptake to utilise my skills elsewhere so far. Nobody has taken time to talk me through objectives, although I was made to fill out a form shortly after joining, or the career path within the organisation so far so it's unclear to me what is expected from me and where I could take my career. I can't say this is unique to AMS as I think a lot of organisations fall in this trap of forgetting about employees once they are in the door. I was shocked when my manager made it clear to me he knew about my application to another company, where it happens AMS looks after the HR recruitment, as the job wasn't with AMS. Doesn't seem Data Protection legislation is observed, as clearly someone told my manager about my application. This is atrocious and makes me questions the morals and values of the organisation. It's a very political environment on my account and people play favourites. Reminds me of being back at school, where you have to be in with the "cool kids" to be accepted and be seen by management, your work out put is secondary. We have no access to AMS systems at the client account so can't access knowledge base etc so I can't access training courses or internal systems.

Hi, I am naturally really concerned to read your feedback. I am particularly concerned about your comments about data protection and morals and values as these are things that we take very seriously here. I was also concerned that you haven't had a mid year review or regular one to ones as this is something that all employees should have. I would appreciate the opportunity to find out more from you about your experience, so please contact me in confidence at sheena.cartwright@alexmann.com

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s great to hear our culture and the care we show for our people have made a positive impact. That sense of support and connection across teams is something we work hard to nurture every day. We also recognize that client relationships can be complex at times. Supporting our teams to navigate those environments with confidence and collaboration remains an important focus for us. We appreciate your feedback and your contribution to AMS.

Pros

Flexible and remote working Great company but with the right leadership

Cons

Since the leadership change last year, the culture within AMS has deteriorated significantly. The new CDTO’s approach has created an environment that feels increasingly toxic and unsustainable for many employees. There is a strong sense that every problem is expected to be solved—or sidelined—by AI, often without realistic planning, sufficient resources, or input from the teams actually responsible for execution. This has led to confusion, constant shifting priorities, and a lack of meaningful support for getting work done effectively. At the same time, workloads have increased to an unsustainable level. Expectations continue to rise, but without additional resources or clear prioritization. Many teams are stretched thin, juggling multiple high-pressure initiatives with tight deadlines, which only adds to the stress and makes it difficult to maintain quality or balance. More concerning is the leadership style. Communication often feels driven by pressure and fear rather than clarity or collaboration. Many employees feel they are operating under constant scrutiny, which has contributed to widespread stress, anxiety, and low morale across the department. It’s becoming common to hear colleagues express reluctance to come into work, not because of the workload itself, but because of the atmosphere.
