Pros

The place is nice, outside of IT a very good company to work for and the people have a lot of passion. Location is great, in Leeds center (Head Office).

Cons

Crazy hours (you have to get in hours early to even get a parking space and will be expected to stay late often), very low pay, 'mafia style' management structure at the department head level, promotion based upon being in the mens' club/running club/rugby club. Lots of doing silly management favours on a whim - such as build their wife a laptop on company time etc... Bonus's can get convoluted and you have very little impact on how it gets calculated. Lots of un-common sense decisions which cost lots of time and money wasted - often out of hours too. Very bad appraisal process - review yourself in a huge form and then argue with your manager over a pre-determined score that was decided months earlier at a management offsite meeting with little to no baring on the work you actually did and more on personality opinions. Promotion process itself is pretty ludicrous and changes names and style every few years. Expect it to take 6 - 18 months when you are already doing the role to the level they want and then up your deliverables to the point where you are working 60 - 80 hours every week. Maximum pay rise you'll get out of that is 10% and that's not even guaranteed.
