Pros

No pros, just an awful company so run away as far as you can!

Cons

They underbid for the VA Hospital contract, in order to win, however they screwed over the contractors by low-balling everyone. Most were making $16-$17 an hour base not including benefits and Teksystems under ASM Research because they get a cut as well offered the service desk technicians $14 base or below an hour. They also cut benefits as well. All staffing agencies offer $20 an hour or so - about $5 or so for benefits = your hourly pay, that's how contractors/staffing agencies work and how they make there money on a bill rate. They even offered small bonuses to bribe contractors to the accept the job, pretty shady if you ask me. I'm really disappointed in the VA allowing these bottom of the barrel god awful staffing agencies to work for them then again the VA has problems itself with retaliating against whistle blowers and patient care so I'm not surprised. You will always be treated like 2nd class citizens to national service desk so basically you will be treated like dirt, no wonder people are always quitting/getting fired from this job and they hired people in bunches because people are constantly quitting/getting fired. -Low pay -Awful benefits with high deductible -Horrible work environment -Hostile work environment -Nasty callers and you get blamed for everything -Micromanaged to the T -Horrible and degrading on-site managers -High turnover -Contractors are treated like 2nd class citizens -NSD are just awful and treats you like disposal waste If you choose to accept this job anyways than you've been warned!

Pros

ASM Research provides a collaborative engineering environment that empowers technical professionals to take ownership of massive, enterprise-scale performance architectures. The leadership strongly recognizes dedication and impact, creating a culture where mentoring peers and driving operational excellence are deeply valued. It is an ideal workplace for engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges while safeguarding mission-critical systems.

Cons

While ASM Research offers great stability, the specialized nature of long-term government contracts can sometimes slow down the adoption of modern, open-source automation tools and frameworks. Navigating the rigid compliance and bureaucratic layers required for federal systems can occasionally extend project timelines and administrative overhead. Additionally, engineers looking for rapid exposure to fast-paced, commercial tech stacks may find the environment more focused on maintaining and optimizing legacy enterprise architectures.

Pros

Training was good. Coworkers are helpful.

Cons

The pay! $18.81/hr is not worth the amount of work you have to do. They told us in training that there would be a minimal of 3 inbound calls. That was a lie. I've had more than 4 calls come through within the first 2 weeks. The amount of outbound calls you have to make are insane. It's a waste of time. And don't do the evenings because you'll do double the work on outbound calls with no pay differential. Everything is on a spreadsheet and the system that you do use doesn't work.
