Pros

Work-life balance The company offers a lot of training opportunities. There are a lot of opportunities to move to different roles and move up the corporate chain.

Cons

Health benefits are expensive and subpar compared to other companies in the same industry in the area. Pay is below average for the area. Some employees have been working there since the company was very small so they feel entitled and aren't very open to change, making certain tasks that should take a day or two at most drag for months.

Pros

ASM Research provides a collaborative engineering environment that empowers technical professionals to take ownership of massive, enterprise-scale performance architectures. The leadership strongly recognizes dedication and impact, creating a culture where mentoring peers and driving operational excellence are deeply valued. It is an ideal workplace for engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges while safeguarding mission-critical systems.

Cons

While ASM Research offers great stability, the specialized nature of long-term government contracts can sometimes slow down the adoption of modern, open-source automation tools and frameworks. Navigating the rigid compliance and bureaucratic layers required for federal systems can occasionally extend project timelines and administrative overhead. Additionally, engineers looking for rapid exposure to fast-paced, commercial tech stacks may find the environment more focused on maintaining and optimizing legacy enterprise architectures.

Pros

Training was good. Coworkers are helpful.

Cons

The pay! $18.81/hr is not worth the amount of work you have to do. They told us in training that there would be a minimal of 3 inbound calls. That was a lie. I've had more than 4 calls come through within the first 2 weeks. The amount of outbound calls you have to make are insane. It's a waste of time. And don't do the evenings because you'll do double the work on outbound calls with no pay differential. Everything is on a spreadsheet and the system that you do use doesn't work.
