Pros

Cigna Health Insurance and nothing more.

Cons

Soul-sucking, slave-driving, backstabbing, and stressed-out General and Regional management— this company couldn’t care less about its employees or customers. The hours are ridiculously (and unnecessarily) long, the pay is egregiously low and uncompetitive, and the opportunity for growth is nonexistent. Seriously, one can make twice the money per hour bussing tables at the local IHOP, than what is earned as a Sales or Customer Accounts Manager at Aaron’s. True story— I researched it. The so-called “store of the future” will now mandate employees to work late weekdays and weekends, Sundays, and holidays. Aaron’s won’t hire full-time employees anymore because payroll is a huge expenditure that the company can no longer afford, now that overall growth is receding and has been uncontrollably spiraling downward over the past four years. Don’t expect to get promoted to General Manager anytime soon, unless those people quit, get fired (which never happens), or DIE. That’s right, you’ll be indefinitely stuck in your sales or collection “management” position, cleaning, moving things, helping on deliveries and returns, lifting heavy furniture and appliances, and basically doing other people’s work. Why? Because the delivery guys always call in or quit without notice. The region NEVER has new candidates in the recruiting pipeline, so expect to work very hard physical labor— this includes women. You’re not a manager, but just another delivery guy. And when that merchandise is returned (mostly due to nonpayment from ghetto deadbeats), it’s radically infested with bedbugs and cockroaches! Again, true story. Forget about your family life, personal days off, or vacation time. Management denies it all, so don’t plan ahead by buying those airline tickets to Hawaii. These people couldn’t care less about your children, family life, hobbies, appointments, health, or anything outside of the Aaron’s cotton plantation. It’s like pulling teeth from a Great White to get time off summarily approved. Aaron’s hates it when employees take vacations. You can’t even get a simple “Good Morning!” from the Regional Manager. This is BY FAR the worst company I’ve ever worked for. I’m only in it for the quality (but expensive) health insurance for my family until I secure new employment. In the interim, I’ll do anything and everything to milk my time and stay out of the store as long as humanly possible in order to avoid the tension, stress, anger, confusion, dysfunction, and drama.
