Pros
There really isn't any. Don't be swayed by the headlines or when Siew Hwa tries to guilt trip you into staying
Cons
Zero culture - Siew Hwa practically doesn't care about the welfare of her workers. Everything she does, she does only for her own status Bad Management - No direction. Lots of micromanagement. Siew Hwa just wants to get into everyone's job because she doesn't trust anybody. Not even her own family members Toxic Workplace - Constantly shouts and disparages people. Lies in front of them and expects that people won't find out. Doesn't Pay Salary - She hasn't even paid for the last 2 months of my 6 months internship there.
Pros
None, period. PLEASE avoid this organisation if you value your personal and social health.
Cons
Micromanagement at its finest. The highest level of management perpetuates this questionable form of working style which aims to invade the integrity of each employee. The CEO heavily distrusts her own employees as she constantly need to look over their shoulders and control how they work. The CEO is a downright authoritarian with a sprinkle of elitism as she tends to overwrite opinions and feedback from people with lower credentials than her. "You do not have a PhD", "you didn't work in any US labs before" or "you are just a poly graduate" are among some of the most exquisite quotes from our dear CEO when trying to push down those who had challenged her. Embodiment of hypocrisy. The CEO loves to have behind-the-doors 'discussions' on employees she has placed a death marker on, while acting like a saint when out in the open. She is known to carry petty grudges where she pivots around the mistakes someone made and uses it to assess their entire profile despite the context. Once you get onto her bad side, good luck trying to redeem yourself. Workload? The moment you sign the contract, you will be viewed as her 'property' and you bet your *** that you will be working like a dog. The CEO thinks that every single second that you are on her payroll you need to be working, even on your off-days. The CEO disregards any work-life balance that her employees should be entitled to since you are receiving 'premium' pay that other companies cannot match according to her 'calculations'. Does it sound like unjust servitude? Well, it is. Not to be overtly crude, but sometimes her actions border on exploitation. The CEO places enormous responsibilities and workload on underpaid, under-qualified, and overly-stressed employees and interns where she expect perfect results. If anything goes wrong, please do not expect her to carry you out of the wreckage. The top management constantly boost on having enough dollars to make them a well-respected establishment. But in fact, they are incredible misers who do not pay salaries, OT and CPF on time. No night shift allowances as well, because as they claimed: "we will pay those who show us results". What a bunch of crap. Night shift allowances shouldn't be a privilege, instead it should be an employee's right, looking as to how the employees are shaping their entire day-night schedule to accommodate your cheapskate ***. The high turnover rate is a gross understatement on how rotten the highest level of management of this organisation is. Some employees within are suffering from the corrosive working environment but cannot escape this place due to personal reasons. So I really hope that anyone who wishes to join this place, please think twice. Or at least check with your peers as this company is garnering deserved notoriety in this market.
