Pros

comp plan was good, flexible work from home policy, product was adaptable and the company's architects built a good solution

Cons

Toxic management from CEO, meetings and discussion were commonly avoided in lieu of emails that were abusive, CEO needed to be involved on ALL internal and external emails and discussion, which resulted in fear and confusion as projects and ideas were held up, or never brought up, because of the malignant autocracy that was created Several traits of narcissistic abuse were on display regularly, including: Negative contrasting (unnecessarily making comparisons to negatively contrast a person's work) Intentionally making you or a colleague distrust their perceptions or believe that you are the one who is mentally incompetent Verbal abuse that included belittling, bullying, accusing, blaming, shaming, demanding, ordering, criticizing, sarcasm, and rage. Examples included public ridicule on conference calls, the CEO becoming irritable and hanging up, assignments given on a Friday for Monday delivery without any follow up afterwards on the output of the assignment i.e. a "mission critical" weekend's worth of work was seemingly done for nothing

Pros

Friendly, understanding, and helpful co-workers and staff. Free popcorn, daily! Fun and chill atmosphere. Generous benefits. Possibility to work from home, dependent on position. Knowledge of an industry that I otherwise would have never known about. In my opinion, you should possess knowledge of TPM, SMB. If you do, you will be a great fit! Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances on my end hindered me from continuing to work here, however, I would still be employed if circumstances were different. You have the ability to potentially travel to expos, conferences, and trade shows that they host across the country to see/meet potential clients, and clients you are working with. Their annual conference is in Disney! If you are someone who is easily overwhelmed, offended, and don't necessarily agree with the hustle and bustle that this industry/company brings, you likely will not be a great fit. It's a smaller company, with a lot going on, but there are people in place who truly care about what they do, and are passionate about it. There are team members who are always willing to help. They are growing at a quick speed, so it's exciting to be a part of, and contributing to that collaboration. It can get overwhelming at times, due to the fact that there is a lot happening, but time management, organization, and prioritization is key, just like any other normal organization. You are held accountable for your own projects and work, so if that's not your thing, and hiding behind the scenes, then this place would not be a good fit for you. There is also potential to grow with this growing company.

Cons

There aren't that many, but I would say, oftentimes quiet atmosphere if working in the office. There can be times of difficulty in collaborating with team members as almost everyone works remote, and not in the state of IL where HQ's are. However, I believe they are trying to do more in-house meetings with getting employees into the office more. Isn't a typical '9-5' job. If you care like the other employees do, you will find yourself checking emails on weeknights, and weekends, which isn't necessarily a 'con' but something to keep in mind.

Pros

Remote work with friendly colleagues always willing to help.

Cons

No HR department (quit) No Finance department (quit) Barely a marketing department/person After looking at the past reviews and still deciding to give Adesso a shot due to it's explained growth and opportunity, I am sad to say that many if not all of the reviews are true. There is no work-life balance as senior management will expect you to be present all evenings, weekends and fly out to HQ in Rolling Meadows, IL or to a trade show to hand out fliers on very short notice. Adesso lacks a positive culture from upper management and it's evident through the amount of turnover (6 people in 2 months/only a 15 person company). Talented new employees arrive to only leave shortly after due to micromanagement, abusive behavior (emails and treatment) from management, lack of standard departments for assistance and lack of overall direction. The company cuts corners and isn't professional or creative and forward thinking. The product seems to help it's clients but I would never recommend this company to anyone.
