One will find difficult to switch jobs internally. You need to know hiring manager personally to get shortlist then interview n then final selection. Also referral system for external candidates is not good. If you refer your referred candidates will never get shortlisted for interview even though JD n job profile matches. These two points shows poor HR existence in org. My career got impacted due to frequent Manager change. In my 7 years experience, my manager changed 5 times. Also, Indian employee manager atleast in my organization act like messenger from their US managers to their Indian employee reportees n messenger from their Indian employee reportees to their US managers. They contribute zero % to work.
