Here's the deal....
This place is the most bizarre and negative place I have ever worked. Everyone is out for themselves and will step-on or blame everyone else for their lack of talent or experience. You're level of skills and contribution will have ZERO influence on your pay increases, promotion or basic acknowledgement of work. I have seen time and time again, Directors and VPs take credit for work they had nothing to do with. It is completely disheartening when other people, lesser people, get credit for the work and ideas they didn't develop.
It's truly hard for me to completely explain the level of pervasive back stabbing and marginalization of their best employees. There is a reason the turnover is so high in a terrible job market.
I don't think HR is intentionally bad, but they are focused on all the wrong things, and not the basics for the good and hard working employees... Having a hat day, is not helping the low moral, and utter discontent that is systemic across all the teams.
A great example: When the company policy is to not give exit interviews to employees leaving in good standing, what does that tell you about an organization?
