Pros
I've worked in "Corporate America" for close to 20 years. Airbnb is a breath of fresh air. The people are open, creative, supportive and incredibly intelligent. The work environment is welcoming, engaging and exciting. But the culture more than anything is strong, meaningful, supportive, and fulfilling. Lastly, I honestly feel like upper management gives a damn. They are as transparent as they can possibly be and I believe that they listen, admit when they screw up, and genuinely try to learn from mistakes to make this the best place in the world to work.
Cons
You'll always hear about work-life balance at exciting startups. It's not perfect here either, but it is what you make it. We're still a bit behind in some benefits, but we're also still quite young as a company. Now that employees are staring families more attention will be turned on family benefits. "Total Compensation" isn't great, but I'm still here, so it's not bad enough to walk away.
