Pros

Airwallex has a lot of positive press and at least some of the management & HR team are doing their best to address a toxic culture.

Cons

We hire crazy number of new people from Seek. More than 6 have started and quite out of their depth, possible due to the AU Director being from Seek and hiring his buddies. Very bad nepotist.

In the first half of 2020, Airwallex has hired 142 people globally. 27 of those new starters have been in Australia. These new joiners have come from many different companies across Melbourne as well as interstate and internationally. People continue to be the number 1 priority for management - this includes hiring the right talent, ensuring we have the right retention and development programme in place, and ensuring that we build a diverse culture. We are a company whose culture is continually evolving and are always seeking to grow and improve. 1. Leadership is scattered throughout the world and has different priorities 2. Stop chasing the new shiny object and stick with what works and what got us here

Over the past few years, Airwallex has scaled rapidly, processing hundreds of billions in payments annually. There are clear career progression opportunities if you perform. Leadership is supportive of internal mobility, and high performers are recognized and promoted. You’re surrounded by smart, driven colleagues who are collaborative and willing to help, which creates a motivating environment day to day.

Cons

Like most high-growth companies, things can move fast and change quickly, which may not suit everyone. There can be pressure to perform given the pace and ambition of the company.
