As you move up the hierarchy, directors and managers tend to treat employees with little consideration. There is minimal attention to people’s well-being, frequent unjustified layoffs, and an overall lack of care for individuals. As a consultant, you are expected to work 12-hour days and occasionally weekends, yet the contract still states a 40-hour workweek.
