Pros

Salary is very generous for it to be a “sales” position. You get a company car that you can use any time for any purpose. Completely eliminates the need for a personal car payment. You’re left alone to do your job as long as you’re doing your job correctly. Support and recognition from leadership has been top of the line. This isn’t your typical sales position where you must meet objectives or else you’re ran out of the company. The brand sells itself and if you can’t sell the product Altria carries, this probably isn’t the job for you anyway.

Cons

The only con so to speak would be the workload that we have but if you’ve ever worked for a large corporation, you know objectives change almost daily. Yes, it can feel overwhelming at times but coming from a cut throat sales environment, I’ll take this “pressure” all day every day.

Pros

I spent over 15 years at Altria and, overall, had a very positive experience. I started in territory sales and was able to grow into HQ roles over time, which really speaks to the company’s ability to recognize and reward performance, skills, and leadership qualities. There are strong opportunities for advancement if you’re willing to put in the work and consistently deliver results. The culture, for the most part, is supportive and focused on development. I had the chance to learn a lot, take on new challenges, and build a diverse skill set across different parts of the business. At the HQ level, I found that your direct manager plays a significant role in shaping your day-to-day experience, including work-life balance and overall job satisfaction. While most of my experiences with leadership were positive, there are instances where certain managers are more focused on personal advancement, which can create a more challenging environment. That said, the organization offers strong career growth, valuable experience, and a solid foundation for long-term development. It’s a great place to build a career, especially if you’re proactive and adaptable.

Cons

Culture challenges as they continue to reorganize.
