Pros
- Benefits and Pay are decent if you negotiate well upfront. - Pretty much work independently with your client with little oversight. - If you have a chance to work with a great customer, you can get some great exposure. - Lots of travel opportunity if you're young and not tied down.
Cons
- Management very inconsistent (3 managers in 6 months - first one easy going and approachable, good reviews, stayed in contact. Last one never responded about offers they initiated and much stingier on raises.) - Lots of talk; little action from management - No investment in employees technical growth - Business development let to ride on the back of employee contacts instead of having a sales manager drum up business - Constant push to sell more services outside current projects when over 100% committed to a customer and didn't offer to propose ideas to alleviate workload to permit the actions. - Refused to invest or support existing business until technical staff generated more business. - If they aren't able to generate business, you're out of a job when your contract runs out.
