Pros

People are great and industry complexity lends numerous opportunities to learn. Horizontal mobility is unparalleled, and there are numerous opportunities to change roles.

Cons

Pay scale rewards professional hires and graduate degrees with superior compensation without elevating responsibilities (i.e. I entered out of undergrad, received a promotion and two salary adjustments, and make significantly less than lower level masters+ hires). HR also unequivocally said no to salary negotiations to me at hiring, yet I know of examples of comparable hires receiving 25% more than myself. Leadership unwilling to adjust.

Cons

Employees deserve leaders who foster trust, transparency, and psychological safety. During my experience, there were instances where concerns that were raised were minimized, dismissed, or reframed in a way that left employees questioning their own experiences and perceptions. This created an environment where speaking up felt risky and eroded trust between employees and leadership. When employees do not feel heard or supported, engagement, morale, and retention inevitably suffer.
