Incompetent senior management who worry only about stock price and profits (yet the stock price hasn't changed in years). Amgen grew too fast and didn't build a strong infrastructure to support a big company. Layoffs. Everything moves too slow here and it takes years to finish a project that other companies could do in months. Too many changes that don't have any real benefit. There is no discipline in this company and everyone is treated with "kid gloves" to prevent from hurting anyone's feelings.
