Pros
There is always new equipment to learn. There is usually money to do all experiments without worry. Since it was a big campus there was usually someone who could lend you ingredients. My colleagues were very smart and would teach what they knew. Generous layoff package, but lots of money wasted when items could have been sent to people who would need them.
Cons
Stress. There was stress about layoffs, little understanding on experiment planning and length from Management. Many perks were stopped at satellite sites, but not at the Mother-ship. The decision making process what shielded from the average employee. Gossip was rampant.
