Pros
Evidence of real product-market fit. Solves real pain for B2C companies. Lots of fun and interesting problems to solve and tech to build with really smart and motivated people
Cons
The leadership team at Amperity has two skills: 1 - Optics. Making things look a certain way regardless of reality 2 - Firing people with a spine who won't be a sycophant Working at Amperity is like playing a game of Russian roulette. One day you're the best thing that ever happened to the company and the next you're being shown the door because you knowingly or unknowingly became a thorn in the wrong person's side. You never know who is next. It's fear based management. One example. Amperity is the least inclusive company I've ever worked for. Yet they are masters at making it look like DEI is a priority. Amperity's product decisions are made in the worst echo chamber I've ever witnessed in my many years of working in tech. Only members of the inner circle get to influence product decisions. Anyone who has the spine to point that out and/or present any data that contradicts the opinion of someone in the inner circle can expect to immediately be shown the door. That bias is very evident in the product itself. I've witnessed several people get fired and none of them were cis hetero-normal white men. not.a.single.one.
