Pros

You're going to learn a lot You get to dabble in a little bit of everything I got to be reallt involved in the business of the brand felt more like ab employee than an intern I got to help with creating flyers, curating instagram posts, assist with editing the website and coming up with event planning ideas & sales pitches along with communicate with bloggers and small celebs

Cons

It's unpaid and Anne expects you to work as if you're on a salary, she even expects you to stay later than the usual 10am-6pm which I think is abuse for an unpaid internship Legally there are law requirements that define an unpaid internship to be a shadowing and learning experience except there's more interns than employees There's an extreme lack of structure I've never seen any of her paid employees take a proper hour break everyone just goes buys food brings it back eats it in 15 minutes and goes back to work like little slaves About that most of it seems pretty illegal, she lives in a small one bedroom apartment and the "showroom" is the messy living room and dining room of her apartment Not ideal working space, dogs are distracting Things seem legit until you really look into the details there's almost 28,000 followers on the instagram yet their posts only get 10 likes or less their social media marketing engagement percentage doesn't add up which means she bought over 20k fake followers which makes it really hard to work on any good social media marketing ideas when there's so many fake followers holding the page back There's a lack of structure and direction one day she wants you to research space for an event the next day she says no budget and gives you something else to do and then 2 days later changes her mind so it makes it very hard to get anything done

Pros

-I interned at NVII x Anne Bowen for 3 months and it was a rollercoaster. Its a small company so you really get to know the people you’re working with, ends up feeling like family. -I really got to build a relationship with the head designer Anne Bowen who has been in the fashion industry for a while so I learned from her decision making, design choices etc. -I really felt like I had a voice and never felt like I was treated like an intern -Anne is really generous with the lunches, snacks and coffee.

Cons

-Its a small company so there are days where there's not much to do and days when its completely hectic. -It can get a little frustrating when the company isn't growing as much as you think it should but just really shows how much you start to care about it. -I did have to do some of heavy lifting. Running around the garment district for the perfect fabric, copying patterns etc. Its nothing you wouldn't do at another fashion internship and they rarely do extra hours but it is hard work

Pros

I got to work closely with the designer while we sketched the new collection. I also got to source suppliers, communicate with manufacturers, assist on campaign photo shoot, assist for NYFW Runway Show, assist designer in concept development and was exposed to all aspects of the business. I learned a lot about textiles and that you have to oversee very closely all areas you are involved in from a zipper to a Fed ex box. Anne Bowen is a demanding designer but she is a good leader with a lot of courage, compassion and understanding, incredible strength and creativity. This is an invaluable experience and for the people on here who bashed her... i was there... i found those people either not willing to work hard or very argumentative over small, unimportant things. Honestly Anne was really nice in the face of those awful people. If you are sincere about having the tools to succeed this would be my recommendation.... if you can work hard. A huge lesson i learned is deadlines don't wait for you!! :P

Cons

I worked in a small space and i also needed to stay organized but i learned from it.
