Pros

They provided a ski season pass to the Vail resorts in the winter. Other resorts had agreements that allowed you to get inexpensive tickets for yourself. There was a decent employee discount programs on equipment. None of my managers were ever unfair to me. My co-workers were some very nice people. You can make commission during the busy season easily and it can add up to a good amount but it's highly schedule and weather dependent.

Cons

Scheduling was often a mess. Managers tried to keep tweaking payroll to sales up until the last minute so I sometimes wouldn't know my schedule three days out, though this was often during the busy winter. The work is largely seasonal. This is basically a winter sports store that stays open all year. Its easy enough to get hired during the ramp up to winter (September-October) but you're likely to get dropped around April-May unless you really stand out. Also, since so little is happening during the summer you don't do a lot. You are expected to do the usual retail stuff, bug people to death (customer service!), etc. The company issues coupons but they are highly restricted so you have to argue with people about this constantly. Though they don't have you pitch the scammiest stuff (credit cards and warranties), it can be soul sucking to have to give people sales pitches when you know if you were on the receiving end you'd hate.
