* Free parking is on the 10th floor of a multi-storey with narrow turns (while the top dogs park down low), can’t count how many people have scraped their cars
* Benefits aren’t the best, e.g. max contribution to pension is 3% (they recently said they upgraded the benefits package in an attempt of increasing employee satisfaction, but people who’ve been there for a few years will notice nothing has changed, they’ve just dressed up the existing benefits with some new words or made some people aware of benefits they didn’t know already existed/only a few people were taking advantage of)
* Diverse work is a pro, but also a con as you can (and will) be forced down a route which isn’t on the job spec, could be for weeks could be for months
* A lot of internal politics and secrecy
* Workplace bullying is real, if they want you gone you’ll know and feel it, seen it happen on more than one occasion
* Favouritism is apparent
* Sub par training
* Awful pay (with no regular pay reviews, allegedly they’re working on this but they say that a lot and things don’t change) - If you have recently had a pay review, good luck getting another one for atleast 2-3 years
* They say your hours are 37.5 per week, but they’ll make you work much longer. It’s just a way of justifying the lower than market average salaries
* Low levels of appreciation, too little too late is the consensus from a lot of people who have left. Only when you hand in your notice is when they’ll listen to you and recognise you
* Notice period is 3 months, probation period is 6 months
* Communication between departments is shockingly poor, managers don’t listen, a lot of false promises. Have to shout (over and over again) simply for a chance to be heard
* Clients and projects are won by putting on a show of smoke and mirrors, and then the developers are left to suffer. Management will always side with clients over employees in a “customer is always right” fashion to keep them happy even if they’re to blame for some issues
* There was a pay freeze during peak covid, certain employees were told this also meant a promotion freeze however people higher up the ladder were getting promotions left right centre
