Pros

For those poor, unfortunate souls still clinging on at Apadmi, there are a few glimmers of hope: Social Gatherings: Despite the chaos, Apadmi does host social events. These gatherings give employees a chance to commiserate and share war stories about their adventures in the corporate wilderness. Diverse Talents: You'll find an array of skilled individuals scattered among the rubble. If you can manage to network with them amidst the madness, you might actually learn a thing or two. Occasional Recognition: While it may be rare, some employees do manage to garner recognition for their hard work and dedication. If you're exceptionally persistent and lucky, you might just get your moment in the spotlight.

Cons

Apadmi's engineering managers were a true spectacle to behold – a circus act that left us wondering how they managed to get their jobs in the first place. Their unique brand of decision-making would have been comical if it hadn't been so detrimental to the rest of us trying to do our jobs. When things inevitably went south, engineering managers had an uncanny ability to pass the buck faster than a hot potato. Accountability was a foreign concept, and they were the masters of deflection. Promotions at Apadmi are a mystery wrapped in an enigma. It's not about merit or hard work; it's about whether you've managed to become a favourite of the decision-makers. It's like winning a lottery where the odds are stacked against you, and the jackpot is a fancier job title. Favouritism runs rampant here, and it's about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Some people seem to get promoted faster than a viral TikTok video, while others have to fight tooth and nail just to be acknowledged. It's like a twisted game of office politics where the rules change depending on your relationship with the decision-makers. The toxic working environment here can best be described as a pressure cooker that's always on the verge of exploding. People are stressed and overworked to the point where it affects their mental health. You'll be so mentally drained that you'll start having conversations with your stapler, hoping it'll offer more support than your managers or HR. And let's not forget the sleezy higher-ups. I mean, if you're into slimy characters who ooze insincerity like a leaky faucet, then this is the place for you. You'll witness more manipulation than a magician's show, and it won't be nearly as entertaining. Sure, there are socials to help you bond with your equally miserable coworkers, but trust me, it's not worth it. You'll find yourself questioning your life choices as you sip your third pint, realising that you're paying for the privilege of enduring this workplace hell. Oh, and about job titles – they're inflated beyond belief. You'll meet "senior" this and "lead" that, only to discover that their actual expertise is about as substantial as a helium-filled balloon. It's like a twisted version of the Wizard of Oz, where you pull back the curtain and find nothing but smoke and mirrors. In conclusion, Apadmi is a place where incompetence is celebrated, favouritism is the name of the game, and your mental health takes a back seat to the chaos. If you have a strong penchant for office politics, stress, and disappointment, by all means, apply here. For the rest of us, it's time to exit stage left and find a workplace that values talent over favouritism and promotes a healthy work-life balance. Break a leg out there, folks! 🎭🤡🚀

Pros

*Opportunity to learn a lot on the job, Udemy membership too * Some amazing people work there * Nice office space and work from home option with all the equipment you’d need including a monitor, desk chair, powerful laptop * 25 days holiday not including bank holidays * Flexible working hours * Lots of socials

Cons

* Free parking is on the 10th floor of a multi-storey with narrow turns (while the top dogs park down low), can’t count how many people have scraped their cars * Benefits aren’t the best, e.g. max contribution to pension is 3% (they recently said they upgraded the benefits package in an attempt of increasing employee satisfaction, but people who’ve been there for a few years will notice nothing has changed, they’ve just dressed up the existing benefits with some new words or made some people aware of benefits they didn’t know already existed/only a few people were taking advantage of) * Diverse work is a pro, but also a con as you can (and will) be forced down a route which isn’t on the job spec, could be for weeks could be for months * A lot of internal politics and secrecy * Workplace bullying is real, if they want you gone you’ll know and feel it, seen it happen on more than one occasion * Favouritism is apparent * Sub par training * Awful pay (with no regular pay reviews, allegedly they’re working on this but they say that a lot and things don’t change) - If you have recently had a pay review, good luck getting another one for atleast 2-3 years * They say your hours are 37.5 per week, but they’ll make you work much longer. It’s just a way of justifying the lower than market average salaries * Low levels of appreciation, too little too late is the consensus from a lot of people who have left. Only when you hand in your notice is when they’ll listen to you and recognise you * Notice period is 3 months, probation period is 6 months * Communication between departments is shockingly poor, managers don’t listen, a lot of false promises. Have to shout (over and over again) simply for a chance to be heard * Clients and projects are won by putting on a show of smoke and mirrors, and then the developers are left to suffer. Management will always side with clients over employees in a “customer is always right” fashion to keep them happy even if they’re to blame for some issues * There was a pay freeze during peak covid, certain employees were told this also meant a promotion freeze however people higher up the ladder were getting promotions left right centre

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for your contribution to the Apadmi team. We’re sorry to hear of your concerns. We are conscious that we operate in a very competitive jobs marketplace. We regularly review our salaries to make sure they are inline with market benchmarks while still allowing Apadmi’s rates to remain attractive and commercially viable. Regular salary reviews are now in place with the last one being November 2021 and this is now an annual process for everyone. We recognise that the work here is diverse , at times demanding so the teams have already been restructured to make them smaller and friendlier. We are actively focused on improving processes, managing project assignments, offering greater visibility on upcoming projects and clearly communicating priorities. We have taken on board your comments on the culture which will be taken seriously and reviewed. The external car park construction is unfortunately beyond our control but all bar one of our allocated spaces are on the 10th floor. During COVID when the carpark hasn’t been at capacity, there has been some flexibility with vacant spaces which are open to all on a first come, first served basis. Apadmi continues to provide free car parking to our team and none of the spaces are reserved for individuals. Overall, the company has grown considerably during this time and like most, it has not been without its pains and challenges but we know that we have a team of amazing people that make it all possible. We restructured the management team in the summer of 2021 to help deliver change and will continue to review benefits, culture and ways of working. Thanks for your feedback and we wish you all the best for your next role.

Pros

Flexible working Nice team members Up to date technology

Cons

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do my job properly due to a rushed and incomplete rebrand being pushed through by senior management. The rebrand was outsourced to an external agency but shows no thought has gone into it. If you’re a designer looking to take on this role, understand you will have no guidelines to work from and the new identity has no brand personality, marketing strategy, no concept or reasoning to back it up. The business has a whole team of amazing designers but senior management choose not to involve them, prioritising their own personal politics over what’s best for the business and staff. Instead of senior management taking ownership of these poor decisions they’re passed down to the rest of the marketing team resulting in them having to leave. I received no negative feedback or constructive direction and was dismissed without warning.
