Pros

Exceptional Culture from Day One One of my key criteria when evaluating companies is workplace culture, and Apex delivers from the very first interaction. The recruitment process is seamless and well-organized - they provide comprehensive materials to help applicants understand both the process and the company's mission and values. The recruiters are professional, approachable, and always available to answer questions. Smooth Onboarding Experience The onboarding process mirrors the quality of recruitment. Everything is well-structured with dedicated sessions from HR team. From day one, I felt genuinely welcome - both the US and Manila teams went out of their way to integrate me into the company. Top-Tier Tools and Resources Apex provides high-end equipment and tools that enable employees to perform at their best. We also have access to professional development and wellness resources including LinkedIn Learning and the Calm app. They also offer structured business training sessions and internal podcasts that help employees understand the complex trading, clearing, and investment industry Apex operates in, and how different teams interconnect. Strong Work-Life Balance While the company prioritizes business goals, they place employee welfare on equal footing. The current 2x RTO policy strikes the right balance for collaboration without being excessive. The office is stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks, and we have regular monthly activities - team lunches, sports events, and summer outings - that genuinely foster team building. I'm two months in as of this writing, and I'm confident I made the right decision joining Apex.

Cons

Room for more structured department-level training While the overall onboarding process is excellent, there's an opportunity to enhance department-specific training with more structured sessions. Currently, learning is more on-the-go, which I can adapt to, but new hires might benefit from a more formalized departmental onboarding track. Business Complexity Requires Deeper Product Walkthroughs Apex operates in a vast and complex trading, clearing, and investment industry. While business training sessions exist, hands-on product walkthroughs and simulations would help new employees better understand and advocate for Apex's offerings beyond conceptual overviews. HMO Options Could Be Expanded The current HMO is adequate, but offering better plan options would be appreciated. It would also be great to have HMO options that cover senior citizens (like parents), even if employees need to shoulder the additional cost themselves.

Pros

From day one, it's clear this isn't a ticket-pushing operation. The work is legitimately complex and interesting. The team culture is collaborative without being chaotic. People across different areas communicate well and step in to help each other. Management is knowledgeable, accessible, and respects the expertise of the people doing the work. Onboarding was one of the best I've experienced - well organized and clearly designed to get new hires productive quickly rather than leaving them to figure things out on their own. The hybrid setup is reasonable: 3 days in the office, 2 at home. If you're not near an office, full remote is an option. Comp and benefits are competitive. Career development is taken seriously here. There are real opportunities to deepen expertise, and that expertise is recognized and valued - not just checked off a box.

Cons

Financial technology is a niche industry so the upfront learning curve is steeper - not insurmountable but significant.
