Pros

While I am no longer in the employ of Apex IT Group, I really have nothing but positive feedback concerning this team. Apex is not perfect, but everyone there is committed to excellence, and they foster a positive and "awesome" culture. Yes, the expectation of time and talent is high (as it should be), but leadership never asks more of you than they are willing to give of themselves. The foster a learning work environment, with opportunity for advancement, and a very competitive pay scale. I am not at all surprised to hear that they are growing and ever more establishing themselves as a world-class Managed Service Provider.

Cons

I would say the time commitment is a down side, but long gone are the days of the 40-hour work week. If you want a 40-hour week, get a bank teller position. Perhaps the only con I might suggest would be the limited exposure to the big picture of the business. While I was there, I often felt tunnel focused, and wanted to develop a broader knowledge by being involved with other teams and efforts. It also sometimes felt as if management had sort of an inner-circle of "favorite" employees, and it was easy to feel like your were on the outside looking in.

Pros

I've been at Apex for several years and I have seen it and it's people grow and improve tremendously, including myself! One of our core values is Relentless Improvement. This is something everyone lives by here. Our CEO has a promise that he repeats often and that is, if you decide to part ways with Apex you will be more valuable to the industry than when you started with us. I love that! We are always working to improve in every area. This results in some growing pains here and there. But, it leads to a more cohesive team and a unifying culture of ownership and humility. I truly feel like my opinion matters to upper management and my input is taken seriously. Apex prefers to promote from within so opportunity abounds if you have high aspirations. With the right attitude, a good work ethic and open mind, the sky is truly the limit here!

Cons

Though we are always (relentlessly!) improving, Apex is not perfect. We are working on better communication between teams. We also have very high standards for hiring and its a rigorous process which on the one hand is a good thing, but can also lead to gaps in staffing for longer than is ideal. We are very process driven, but can struggle with implementing new processes and getting them followed by all. The good news is that management is aware of these issues and working hard to alleviate them.
