Not a startup (as the interview suggested) instead run by a Chinese corporation. - Educational Consultant Apolish Employee Review

Pros

Fun team / smart colleagues. You won't take the work home with you. If you are a part-time writing specialist, this is a good gig to do flexible, remote work.

Cons

High turnover rate, no benefits, low pay. Management justifies low salaries by claiming that education doesn't pay well, but in reality this is not a company that prioritizes education. Profit and reputation are more important to management than student development and college prep. There is no opportunity to grow in this company. The management philosophy from the chinese headquarters changes every season, leaving the whole team scrambling to catch up. The first half of the year is spent without any work coming in. My advice is if you have a competitive degree (a requirement to work here), save yourself a year of misdirection and apply elsewhere. Not a place to develop a career.

Pros

Flexible and fast-paced environment. If you are a proactive team player and a quick learner, there's plenty of opportunities for growth.

Cons

Collaboration with global offices and clients require working overtime. But most can be done remotely and it's fully compensated.
