They recently laid off a percentage of their employees due to "restructuring" even though the CEO mentioned over the last year there would be no layoffs like the rest of the tech industry has been experiencing. Even went as far as denying layoffs happened in an internal communication. On the same day they let go of employees, they posted on social media about end of year celebrations on a private boat. Not an empathic organization at all. They also started making cuts to benefits (that were always highlighted as reasons why it's great to join). Untrustworthy leadership who do not listen to their employees and their feedback. An employee survey does get sent out but they don't take the feedback seriously to make the changes needed. They talk about Appian values but when it comes down to it, a lot of the leadership does not truly live by those values. Appian does not take a humble approach to how they present themselves in the market. They worry about attacking competitors instead of how they can solve problems and how they bring value to their customers. They also only care about "big brand" customers and exploiting them instead of truly being customer centric and highlighting the outcomes of all of their customers. Messaging and value propositions change every few months so the company isn't able to focus on priorities and a clear direction for the market.
