Pros

- Strong engineering and company culture - excellent WLB, people prioritize personal lives - Flexibility in working hours (start early or late) - nice team match based on your interests - fun intern events including visiting the CEO’s penthouse apartment in Arlington - You’ll get to work on projects and tasks with impact, not just an intern summer project - valuable mentorship, especially through pair programming and proactive goal setting - smart interns and peers, high GPA, good schools. Good networking

Cons

- communication regarding remote work. First, we were told we would have a hybrid experience 3 days in person. Two weeks before the internship, we were notified full in person. With no flexibility. This meant some interns had to use time off without pay when they were planning to use remote work days. Unattractive when hybrid is the industry norm. - Less applicable tech stack. Appian proprietary SAIL code is front end heavy and not so transferable. - Most importantly, be aware of the low return offer rate. Something like only 20% of interns received a return offer. Previously it was almost always 100%, so this may be indicative of changing company viability or priorities. While some interns got return offers in September, many interns were left in the dark about return offer status for over 6 months until March before being told no.
