When I first started out at this company I was amongst the highest performers on my team and it was a fun work environment. I was able to get promoted from an sdr to an account manager but this is when everything started to go downhill. Within the first week of my new role, I was responsible for training new hires in a role that I had never been in myself. I was essentially doing my managers job and whenever I needed assistance, I was told to ask elsewhere and ultimately never received the help I needed to actually be successful in my role. On top of this the company started laying off entire teams which created a very toxic and unsettling work environment. It felt like I was watching a competition of who could kiss up to management the most in order to not get laid off. My own manager cared more about what upper management thought of him than actually doing his job and helping his team. He would also praise other members of our team for working late at night, implying that the whole team should be working past 5 pm. He made no attempt to get to know me as a person and treated me like a number. I eventually ended up getting let go with no explanation, not even by my own manager, and he never reached out to me to say goodbye or anything. What started as a good experience ended up being the most mentally draining job of my life. I would not recommend working for this company.
