Pros

Excellent group of health professionals to work with, exciting insights to learn about genetics, nutrition, and gut microbiome health.

Cons

Training process is extreme, including homework on weeknights and weekends, adding up to 60+ hours a week. The 5 week process is stressful and high pressure, which left a number of trainees in tears, questioning their many years of experience. It was not made clear to many trainees (before hire) that employment was pending "passing" of a nearly 200 question, 3 hour timed test and many mock coaching calls, for which limited practice time was available. Feedback from evaluators is inconsistent and nit-picky. Everything said on coaching calls must be Arivale approved and fit within a very specific set of guidelines, which leaves little room for coaches to utilize their own style and experience.

Hi! I head up the coaching and training teams here at Arivale and I was also the first Arivale coach so have watched the department grow into a team of world class coaches. Thank you so much for your feedback – we are a learning culture and thrive on feedback. I know that you also had the opportunity to complete surveys both midway through and at the end of your new hire training. We do this because we value each person’s opinion. The vast majority of our trainees feel like there is plenty of practice in training and report that the content of training as well as the quality of training staff is outstanding. Though the intensive 4-week training period is presented throughout our interview process (part of criteria for both 2nd and 3rd interviews), we have continued to work on ways to make it even more clear to applicants as well as to candidates who accept our job offer. 90% of the trainees on average graduate into the Coach role. Of the remaining 10% that do not graduate, some realize the role isn’t a good fit for them. For the coaches who are on the job, I want you to know that the recent satisfaction survey from the team for this role and our work environment was through the roof positive and every trainee is able to access these results as soon as you have an Arivale email profile on your first day. Each Arivale coach has a different personality, and coaching style. We all work from a solid understanding of evidence-based clinical information and behavior change methodology, but no two calls sound the same. We would not be able to have the high retention rate that we do if people were not able to be themselves though we also have to ensure the learning base is a common base of information as this is understandably a very important regulated type of product.

Pros

IMAGINE... - being a part of a nutrition-centered, research based, systems medicine approach to wellness - having a supportive, hard working group of dietitians, physicians, software developers and thought leaders as your daily collaborators - learning from top notch trainers about functional medicine, genetics, biomarkers, stress hormones, whole foods and the microbiome - as a coach/dietitian, being the HEART of the company and being fully utilized, respected and appreciated for your skills and expertise - joining projects that you personally feel passionate (or starting one if it doesn’t exist) - receiving feedback regularly so you never have to guess where you stand, you know your strengths and areas of opportunity, and are 100% supported in your own growth - being able to wear whatever you want to work -living in one of the most fun, greenest cities in the US -having the most healthy, fun and inspiring coworkers where community salad bars and team building events happen regularly - being treated with respect and trust from the start and not needing to 'earn it' - having mini yoga and meditation breaks at work to keep you productive and in the zone to do great work - not being surprised that employee satisfaction ratings are off the charts -being a part of the birth of the field of scientific wellness, and helping individuals experience more joy in their daily life - going to work every day feeling inspired and alive ALL this is possible at Arivale.

Cons

Cons are hard to find around here. Sometimes the office is a little louder than I would prefer, but luckily there are always a lot of conference rooms to be used.
