Pros

Downtown Seattle. Easy commute. Medical, dental. Learning environment.

Cons

Call center atmosphere. Only 30 minute sessions. Very scripted. Coaches are in small cubicles. Calls are recorded and basically graded. Always a pass fail atmosphere. People are let go without notice. Management asks employees to write reviews after any negative posts. You will see several right after this post. Definately do not relocate for this job. You will have high pressure training and then only get a few clients for months. You will be asked to do menial tasks and projects. Talk to a new coach if you can, not a lead to get honest answers.

Arivale Response

I head up the coaching team at Arivale and am really saddened by your review. You have identified yourself as a current employee who has worked for us for more than a year and, based on your review, I’m not sure why you would possibly continue to work as an Arivale coach. If you are actually a current employee, I know you have seen the results of all of our coaching staff satisfaction surveys and would know that our results are through the roof positive. Anyone who applies for a position as an Arivale coach is welcome to chat to a coach (versus a lead) about their experience. In fact, we host open houses from time to time at our offices and many of our coaches attend so they are able to talk in person to folks who are interested in working here. About one third of our coaches have relocated to Seattle for this position and report loving, not only working at Arivale, but living in this beautiful city as well. There are unfortunately many untruths in your review (our desk space and cubicles are far from small as just one basic example). We never make people post any reviews – what people post is their own sentiment alone. If you actually are a current employee, I would really encourage you to chat to your lead, our department manager or myself. You will know from working at Arivale that we strongly encourage all of our employees to speak up about anything that is concerning to them. I’d love you to challenge yourself to do the same.

Pros

IMAGINE... - being a part of a nutrition-centered, research based, systems medicine approach to wellness - having a supportive, hard working group of dietitians, physicians, software developers and thought leaders as your daily collaborators - learning from top notch trainers about functional medicine, genetics, biomarkers, stress hormones, whole foods and the microbiome - as a coach/dietitian, being the HEART of the company and being fully utilized, respected and appreciated for your skills and expertise - joining projects that you personally feel passionate (or starting one if it doesn’t exist) - receiving feedback regularly so you never have to guess where you stand, you know your strengths and areas of opportunity, and are 100% supported in your own growth - being able to wear whatever you want to work -living in one of the most fun, greenest cities in the US -having the most healthy, fun and inspiring coworkers where community salad bars and team building events happen regularly - being treated with respect and trust from the start and not needing to 'earn it' - having mini yoga and meditation breaks at work to keep you productive and in the zone to do great work - not being surprised that employee satisfaction ratings are off the charts -being a part of the birth of the field of scientific wellness, and helping individuals experience more joy in their daily life - going to work every day feeling inspired and alive ALL this is possible at Arivale.

Cons

Cons are hard to find around here. Sometimes the office is a little louder than I would prefer, but luckily there are always a lot of conference rooms to be used.
