Pros

Although my experience was overwhelmingly negative, I appreciated the flexible work hours and the dedication of a few exceptional colleagues. We supported one another in ways the company did not.

Cons

Joining Armstrong Craven was a decision I regret almost daily. Ads and interviews touted a "family" atmosphere, a term often used as a facade to exploit loyalty. The reality is far from supportive or familial. Over my three years here, I've witnessed seven rounds of redundancies—a clear indicator that employees are viewed as disposable rather than valued contributors. Promises of growth, team support, and work-life balance amounted to no more than empty words. Salaries have been slashed under the guise of economic strain, although it's evident this recruiter has lost its reputation and the business needed to thrive. The treatment of employees borders on inhumane, and genuine needs for support are met with disregard and invisibility. My compensation with over 20 years of experience is below what I earned two decades ago, fresh out of university. Acquisition by WhiteCrow Research in early 2024 has only deteriorated the already toxic culture, and the disconnect between management's words and actions has amplified. This recruitment company falls short of its promises and expectations in every respect. Prospective employees should approach with caution. Stay away if you value fair treatment and respect in the workplace!!

Armstrong Craven Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your time at Armstrong Craven left you feeling disappointed and disillusioned. Feedback—positive or critical—is something we (and I) take seriously, as it helps us reflect on how we support our people and evolve as a business. We acknowledge that the past few years have brought significant change, including restructuring, both strategic and as a result of market conditions. Change can be challenging, and we do understand how it has impacted the experience of some employees. Having said all of that, we (and I) are committed to building a respectful, supportive and inclusive environment where individuals do feel valued and can grow. I am sorry to hear that you didn’t feel supported or fairly compensated. While our goal is always to align roles, responsibilities, and rewards with experience and market standards, there’s always room for improvement. I genuinely regret that you left with such a negative impression and wish you all the best in the future. If you're open to it, I'd welcome a private conversation to understand more about your experience and how we and I can do better. Jamie
