A hideously faulty, disorganized system with contempt for progressive ideas. - Research Specialist Assurant Employee Review

Pros

Healthcare is okay. Has a self-contained cafeteria and grille, which presents edible food. Generally flexible if you need time off.

Cons

The pay for the services is ridiculously low. Attempted to get me to violate a written cease and desist to meet a clients deadline (final straw - why I quit) HR ONLY intervenes to fire someone. On that note, they'll fire anyone, for any reason. Vendettas are common. Management is disorganized. Computer systems might are as much 50 years out of date as they are 10. Nothing ever improves and suggestions aren't followed up to the chain of command unless you do it yourself. The team environment doesn't exist. People only look out for themselves. The meetings are nonsensical. There were several "team meetings" I attended only to learn nothing about my new client and everything about the day my manager had playing hooky.

Pros

Remote work across all lines of business allows for a flexible work environment

Cons

There is almost no opportunity for growth. The company laid off quite a few employees recently as part of a planned reduction in force while also reporting its highest quarterly earnings. There's no loyalty to tenured employees.
