Pros

I have been working at Astea for less then a year, but can already see that the other reviews here are not representative of the current work culture. The office has a very laid back feel, as common among other comparable software companies. Management is very involved with all employees and looks for input on how they can help you succeed in your role and career. Very entrepreneurial in style, you are allowed to do you work without being micromanaged, and collaboration with other groups at the firm is encouraged. Overall, my experience to date has been great.

Cons

The employee benefits could be better, but that only applies if you utilize your health plan a lot. Other then that the benefits are good for the occasional visit to the doctor. Additionally, more options to work from home or flexible working arrangements would be appreciated.

Pros

We have a diverse group of bright individuals ranging from junior developers to senior architects (some of the smartest individuals I've ever met). There is great opportunity to learn and grow despite previous reviews. Employees are treated fairly and salary and benefits are competitive for the area. Our products are built upon decades of domain knowledge and is hands-down the best FSM product on the market.

Cons

There is an initial learning curve in regards to the domain logic and development standards as with any organization; however, due to the complexity of the application suite, some employees become overwhelmed during the initial six months. My advice to new employees is to stay the course, utilize senior resources, and spend time to study because you are a large part of the company's success. I urge existing employees to step out of their comfort zone, collaborate, and learn new technologies to become a stronger team.
