Pros

fun job opportunities, your own boss (to extent)

Cons

- no benefits, and when they will have then by end of 2013 its going to be very basic... - job not full or part time, its on-call, so they say you will have overtime., but thats not guaranteed, the way i see it....... they are not serious employer if they can not guarantee job security to its employees... - they dont want you to have second job, so you will be available anytime for them, well if i'm not getting enough hours..... i will need some job security, and benefits.....?! - not paid for travel (to-from work), unless its 200 miles on-way... time clock starts when you get on site, you will definatelly have traffic, so you got to leave an hour or two earlier...... - tools your own, they only give you $50 a month for supplies..... its nothing.... - have to provide your own laptop, printer... - when have training days only paid $13/hour..... so if you have to drive to Sacramento for training (from Bay Area) thats only gping to last an hour or two.... you will waist 5-6 hours (at least) and will only make $13 to $26 dollars that day....?! its not even enough for gas for that trip!!! - no pay raises, only if you have some other special skills or licenses, and only then..... if they need those skills in that area..... otherwise you can have all the licenses you can get, but they will say that they done need these in your area..... you out of luck, or they will tell you that they will pay you more (just a little) only when you do those jobs.... - the biggest minus for company is that when i told them i cannot work due to personal issues, no one contact me for 5-days...... after which i was called (message) and told that they want me take of my issues and still work with them....... at that point i had enough of their unprofessionalism and how they took care of matter, and looked for other employment.... - oh, yeh...... they only pay $20/hour..... max $25...

Most of your statements are correct. The position you had was an on-call position, though this usually means (except during the annual holiday season) you will be working around 40 hours a week. We simply cannot say, "You work 8-5 from Monday-Friday", simply because most of our business is responding to emergency IT Service Calls. If an employee needs any tool, or a laptop, for example, we can purchase one and issue it to you. We also pay for your gas 100%. We have never had an employee work at this company that was not either issued a gas card or reimbursed for the cost of fuel immediately. In regards to raises, we have had a lot of employees receive raises. There's a catch: you have to work with us for more than a month if you expect to get a performance review. Unfortunately, we had a field technician that disappeared for three days. His response when he finally called and left the message was that he "was sleeping". We try to be as understanding as possible, but if you don't come to work, we usually look through our applications and hire someone else. There's a lot of misinformation on this page, and I would invite any current, prospective or former employee to call me should they need clarification.

Pros

Good learning experience, they provided training and allowed me to work in places i never have before... like data centers, airports and other high security places.

Cons

Not much to say here except that they are a small company, so there werent any benefits or 401 k matching or anything like that.

Pros

There are plenty of training opportunities. And you get to go to cool places and customers that you cant with any other company. They basically do everything when it comes to commercial networks builds and service. Better than average pay than I've seen. Company motto seems to always put the employees first. They pay for travel. Give $100/mo for a stipend, put you in hotels when traveling or working late. OK benefits, but you have to be with them for at least a year

Cons

If you don't like driving around (anywhere from 4-6 jobs a day from city to city to city) then this isn't for you. We had to use our own vehicles although they pay for gas and per diems. I've never had a bad experience but they have gone through multiple supervisors lately... Also theres a lot of overtime but sometimes its a good thing. Can't even work as contractor on the side, because they're always worried about legal stuff. Company was growing fast when I was there.

Thanks for the review. We are still a small, yet growing company, and currently our techs do a lot of travel and this means often long days. We are working on alleviating this as we have more people in more markets. We do allow PT employees now, as some of our techs are students or have familial obligations! Lastly, we do not plan on hiring or using contractors in the near future. Most of our customers require that we use only W-2 Employees as it can be hard to gauge whether contractors are up to the top standards our employees live by. Under certain circumstances, we have been allowed to and have used contractors, but this is not a regular business practice for us.
