Pros
I've worked at the same company for several years through multiple changes in corporate ownership. Overall I like it, new challenges constantly arise, congenial culture, decent pay. I am not seeking advancement.
Cons
When ATOS acquired the company, many of us had substantial amounts of accrued sick leave. We were aware that PTO offered by ATOS would expire annually, but months went by with no information what would happen with the accrued sick leave. Then a company email informed us it would disappear 13 days from the date of the email. This violated state law in this location (employers can do that, but employees must be informed at time of hire. When we were acquired by ATOS we all had to reapply, so presumably that was the time of hire. The email was sent out almost 8 months after this took place. Now, rather than accruing sick leave based on hours work, or using one PTO bucket for both vacation and sick leave, we are allotted only 7 days of sick leave per year, which cannot be rolled over. Short term disability is available, but the benefits are only half pay. Not the same as a paycheck. And I am sure that some of the people who lost their sick leave had medical treatment (say, the next round of chemo??) expected to take place after the date it was stolen and found themselves in dire situations as a result.
