Pros
The new communities are beautiful and the commission structure is generous.
Cons
The company I signed on to work for in 2019 is completely different than what the company looks like in 2022. Corners are cut, support is lacking, and corporate management is absolutely clueless. They seem to be making decisions as though they are still one of the only names in the luxury senior living game. They roll out frantic initiatives at the last minute and expect you to scramble to get their events, new goals, etc met without a moments notice to prepare. A great deal of preparstion and detail is expected of you if you are at the community level - but the same does not apply for corporate management. The pay rates for front line staff are low, the budget for food and activities are low - but the rent for residents is sky high. Additionally, career opportunities are non existent. Expectations for all directors are through the roof. Our poor RSD is expected to be on call 24/7 with no back up support from corporate if they need to take a day off or enjoy their weekend. I'm sure Atria is already finding, RNs can demand more for themselves through other opportunities both salary wise and work/life balance wise. This is expected of all directors. If you have a family be prepared to put them on the back burner. Ultimately I dislike where Atria's vision as a company is headed. I've talked to and seen connections talk about how their mental health and quality of life has improved since leaving the company. If you value your mental health and family do no work here.
