Pros

If you like gimmicky, hollow “company culture” buzzwords, you’re set.

Cons

In store management, I was overworked, underpaid, and micromanaged down to the last detail and second of each day. I received virtually no upper-level support, even after begging for an assistant manager, another shift lead, ANYTHING. The goalposts regarding what was expected of me and other managers were shifted constantly, with no reasoning or warning, leaving you constantly “behind” on tasks before you were even aware you were expected to deliver them. Zero helpful support or communication, zero incentive to work the 60 hours a week I was working, zero benefits (they stripped away PTO and monthly bonuses the moment they bought us).

Pros

I love working for Massage Envy under the Atticus Franchise Group. When they acquired the location where I was a Clinic Manager, they saw my potential and promoted me to District Manager within a year and a half. I’ve learned so much with Atticus—way more than in my previous eight years with a different franchisee. The support from everyone, from leadership to my coworkers, has been amazing. They believe in growth and give real opportunities to succeed. In a short time, I’ve made big progress, ranking #4 as a District Manager in my first year and #1 in my second. They keep pushing me to grow, and I’m grateful for it. I’m so glad I stayed with Massage Envy and Atticus. They truly care about their team, explain things clearly, and create a strong, supportive culture. It’s a great place to grow, both professionally and personally!

Cons

One thing I’m working on is finding balance when meeting deadlines. Atticus provides great support, but with so many opportunities for growth, I sometimes push myself too hard to get everything done. I’m learning to pace myself while still delivering great results.
