Pros

I can’t think of a single pro to working here. When we were fully remote it was fine, but since returning to the office, it feels completely demoralizing to work for this company.

Cons

Pay SUCKS. Workload is extreme. Understaffed. Zero flexibility for working remotely (despite the fact that we did it successfully for two years). They hire full-time remote workers in different states but don’t allow their current employees in the same job position to be remote, which honestly feels discriminatory and should be illegal. Old white men in the Arlington office make the decisions for our office and they don’t benefit us whatsoever. Completely out of touch with the wants and needs of their employees. Loyal and hardworking employees dropping like flies and management couldn't care less.

Thank you for your review and radical candor. AvalonBay has implemented a hybrid work model for most office associates that was based on feedback from our associates and business needs. We have heard from many associates that they enjoy the balance and flexibility of working from home certain days and collaborating in the office other days. We understand that this model may not suit everyone, and we encourage you to have discussions with your Manager or your HR Manager about ways to improve your experience at AvalonBay. Relative to compensation, we conduct annual reviews of our compensation ranges to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with the market. While it’s disappointing to hear that your experience was less than desirable, you have been with AvalonBay for several years, you are a valued associate and we would like to be able to address your concerns personally. Pros

Company culture makes you really appreciate where you work. I definitely agree that is the "people" at AVB that make it great.

Cons

Nothing really... sometimes it is a bit of a struggle to wear so many hats.
