Pros

AvePoint provides a good platform for someone to earn their stripes in IT Sales. Decent work life balance Product set is actually good There are some highly talented individuals who are willing to help colleagues grow/learn and elevate to their level. Can grow internally quickly but then plateaus equally as fast.

Cons

Base salary is notoriously low compared to market rates. (SMB reps at other Software Vendors are on a similar base to EPG reps) Comp plan doesn't inspire sales reps who work on longer term/strategic deals. Company has lost it's culture - it used to have a very supportive environment which has tapered off in the last year. The office morale is at an all time low with people fearing for job security. The company used to have a family feel, now we feel like pawns in a big chess game for greedy execs waiting to float and cash up No investment into staff - Formal/Professional training has been raised as an issue numerous times without being addressed. Internal training is deplorable and essentially repeating old messages. If you don't invest in external parties to train and enable staff you will continue to struggle to hit the targets set by Goldman Sachs. If the founders really want to float and get the valuation up to that magical mark in order to do so then INVEST in your workforce to enable them to achieve the results required to drive revenue and profits as opposed to sacking them. Lack of clear direction for each region. Conflicting strategies from local managers and global managers. Local managers are great people but lack formal management training which has impacted in their ability to lead the teams to be successful. It is somewhat the blind leading the blind. Ideas aren't taken on board by managers. CEO doesn't care about employee satisfaction or retention. Last Town Hall meeting he essentially said it wasn't his problem and passed the buck onto a new COO this to me was a big slap in the face for all employees Marketing team work hard but the results don't show, we are being out marketed by the competition. Minimal leads are being generated for sales team to follow up. Bad idea to get rid of the new CMO - he needed to be afforded more time to drive change.

Thanks for submitting a review, and for your honest and candid feedback. I’m happy that you appreciate working with talented employees that are willing to go above and beyond to help their colleagues. We’re also pleased to hear that you have been able to develop a work/life balance that works for you. That’s important! While the need to stay competitive in our industry and thrive as an organization has occasionally caused us to make difficult decisions to reduce investment in certain areas of the business, I can assure you that this isn’t something we take lightly. We’re subject to all the complexities of supporting a diverse, global organization, but morale is important and we’re continually looking for opportunities – whether they be new avenues of communication to improve transparency, improving perks and benefits, or implementing fun teambuilding events – to support our teams across the business. In addition, training is certainly a vital component of enabling individual and team success within the company. While we expect a high degree of “self-starter” qualities from our employees, we are actively looking to improve our educational offerings for our employees – including a management training initiative we are about to roll out with help from a very highly regarded third-party organization – to help our teams sharpen their skills and develop their careers. It seems that you and I took our CEO’s comments on employee satisfaction differently during the Town Hall you’re referring to. In introducing our new Corporate COO, our CEO mentioned that ensuring employee retention and satisfaction were a major part of the role. We don’t see this as passing the buck. Putting the right leadership and teams in place is incredibly important, and that’s what the CEO was driving at. We appreciate your point of view, and we thank you again for your feedback.
