Pros

You get to shadow all AV departments and learn the ins and outs of an AV project, from start to finish. Everyone in the company is really nice, helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons

It's hard to pick a most favorite department to shadow towards the end of the internship

Pros

Cool co-workers usually are cool, weekends are off most of the time if not out of town

Cons

A small company and still you are just a dispensable number, but theyll still call you by name.. Work ethics, similar pay to a grocery store employee, constantly being questioned and monitored while working, late hours and/or being sent out of town to share a hotel room with co-workers and no freedom once arrived at job site besides maybe the groups decision on where to drive the company truck to eat.. upper management rarely shows up to work or is bored from not having a work load and occasionally choose to harrass busy, tired employees when they arrive at the shop early in the morning or afternoon..

I appreciate your feedback and wish these issues were brought to my attention while you were an employee. It sounds like it has been a while since you worked here since the decision was made well over a year ago to give technicians their own room on overnight jobs. This was one of many COVID protocols we enacted to help keep employees safe along with implementing COVID pay for individuals who got sick and had to quarantine. Another thing that has happened since your departure is we awarded merit increases and are reviewing pay for entry level, tech positions. Pay for these positions hasn't kept pace with the market and we have a plan to fix it. As for upper management rarely showing up for work, most office staff are on a hybrid schedule and split time between remote work and in-office. Limiting the number of people in the office is part of our strategy to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at work. It is also true that the most convenient time to connect with field teams is in the morning and evening when they are in the office. I am sorry you felt harassed by these interactions as that was not the intention. Creating connection and building company culture has been difficult during the pandemic and we don't always get it right. Lastly, you mentioned being overworked. On average we work 40 - 45 hours per week and we work hard. That is part of our culture. We look for people who enjoy staying busy and putting in a good day's work. For some people we may not be the right fit and that is okay. Thanks again for your feedback and I wish you all the best.
