Work life balance because nobody wants to work, good learning opportunity because if you show eagerness to learn more they will assign you more responsibilities

Cons

Pros

Great offices but that's where the wow factor stops

Cons

Employees who are independent thinkers or who come from more direct, outcome-driven environments may struggle here. There can be a strong pressure to conform culturally, even when processes are inefficient or leadership decisions are questionable. Over time, this can become emotionally draining and create unnecessary stress. I would strongly recommend having union representation or understanding your workplace rights before joining. In environments where culture and perception carry significant weight, having independent support and advice can be important if workplace issues arise. It provides a layer of protection and confidence when navigating disputes, restructures, performance concerns, or disagreements with management. There are good people in the organisation who are being pushed out year on year, but prospective employees should go in with clear eyes about the culture and dynamics. And yes even if you are a secretary or an admin clerk, the general Financial Sector union can represent you.
