Pros

I’ve been working here at the bank in their Junior Credit Analyst program for a little over 6 months now and absolutely love it here. The bank has a unique rotational program which means you are given the opportunity to work at different departments to figure out where you’d like to end up. Based on what I’ve heard, this is pretty unusual. OT is encouraged but not mandatory (at least with my managers); however you'll probably have times where you'll need to put extra time in. You need to be a go-getter to succeed here. If you are looking for a very by-the-book experience, this may not be a good fit for you. Company culture: it’s a very diverse company with people from different backgrounds, ethnicities, etc. You’re doing a lot of work and overall things are very fast-paced, but in general most people are very chill and friendly. You’ll feel like you’ve worked here a longer than you actually have due to how much you are learning and doing. In my view, the experience you receive is unlike what you’ll get at any other entry level position at most any other bank. Overall if you’re fresh out of college or looking for a way to get into credit analysis type positions, Axos Bank is a fantastic place to start to learn the skills you need and have fun along the way.

Cons

I’ve heard that a lot depends on what department you wind up in. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with my supervisors and coworkers but have heard of some in other departments being sketch. Regardless, show up with a good attitude to learn and you will succeed here. And if you don’t like your job or supervisor, fear not, for you can request to rotate out after a couple months – you are never stuck in a bad position. Compensation is definitely much below average but if you’re willing to put in the time up front, it pays off. You get a bonus every six months, pro-rated if you start after the beginning of the six month period, and stock vestments over 3 years. I think a lot of prior bad reviews didn’t fully understand how the bonus structure worked, so pay close attention to it to make sure you know what’s happening. 3 weeks paid vacation with good sick leave policy too is not too shabby at all either. But yes, as prior reviews mentioned, the pay could definitely stand to be improved.
