Pros
The company is growing, and with that comes an increase in jobs. Also, over the last few years, the executive team has been starting to try to create a culture across the entire portfolio. Turnover seems to be slowing down recently, but we have already lost a lot of great people.
Cons
Bigger properties have higher priority, and the small hotels get neglected. They say they're "scrappy" but they really mean they're cheap. Those who work in the home office do not make any effort to visit the properties on a regular basis (those who work on-property have no idea who these people are and what they do). I've felt extremely underappreciated, underpaid and overworked in all the positions I've had during my time with BPR, and it gets much worse when you move from non-exempt to exempt. It seems that more effort is going into growing their portfolio than upkeeping the properties they already have, and nearly all their smaller properties need attention badly.
