Pros
A small company with a few nice people
Cons
4 people were fired in less than two months and most of the other employees were new (the company has less than 20 people so it is a crazy turnover). The owner never worked anywhere else in his life so he is very closed-minded and very strict about things getting done in a certain way without even trying to do them differently or to be open to new ideas. Make sure you get in writing all you are promised in the interview! I was promised one thing and after a while, I was asked to do a completely different role which had nothing to do with my profession. When I asked why he didn't mention this in the job interview, his response was "well I never said that it wasn't a part of your job"! ( a compelling argument, I know!) The owner is not approachable and very moody, the moment you speak your mind, you get fired. He also has no mercy or shame. He let me go a week before Christmass knowing that I have a baby and just got a house with a mortgage to pay (I left a very secure job for this company for a lot of false promises) he made sure to do it right before my probation period was over, just like he did with a lot of others. In the 2.5 months, I worked there I got lots of compliments for my work, from clients and him included. but the moment I disagreed with him on something (not in an argument or in an angry way) he just fired me as if he was looking for a reason. He probably needed seasonal workers and didn't care that it comes at someone's expanse. The worst part was that he made sure to put "Dismissal for a just cause" in my ROE so that I will be denied unemployment. What kind of person does that and why?
