Pros

A lot of young professionals between 25-30 which led to a lot of fun extracurricular activities- A lot of resources for Financial Advisors to take advantage of to help run their businesses.

Cons

....resources mean nothing if they are not managed by the right individuals- meaning transparent, honest, and professional individuals- Barnum Financial lacks this. Management does not care about their employees or advisors; people who control payroll, bonuses, promotions, and advisor compensation pay themselves first, and everyone else what is left. Management is not always honest to staff/advisors about important business changes that directly affect employees. Advisor compensation for insurance and retirement products is well below other companies in the Financial Services industry. Staff/Infrastructure compensation is horrible- there is not a lot of vertical growth potential for infrastructure- most 'growth' comes from a horizontal change to a new role/department.

Pros

Some nice people are there

Cons

If you are a recent graduate stay away from this. Don’t expect to make any money at all in your first two years. The leads given to you are terrible, you are there to funnel out the bad leads while the ones who have been there for a while get all the good leads. You are not given an environment to succeed using your own leads. Throughout the interview process I asked multiple times if what I was expecting to earn was realistic in the first year and nobody stopped me to be honest with me. You’re cheap, you’re dispensable, and nobody has any skin in the game for your success.
