Pros

For some people it may be an okay place to work short term as a counseling intern to get hours toward licensure Some nice staff members Staff able to leave on time and maintain work/life balance (at least counselors) Pay not bad compared with some jobs in the field

Cons

Dirty, dusty, run-down school Poorly trained staff who run the school more like a prison Frequent visits by police, which wouldn't be necessary if staff knew how to intervene Very poor communication between management and staff Unprofessional behavior among staff (e.g., making fun of students) Lots of yelling and chaos Extremely high turnover, with some staff staying only a couple of weeks Very low morale and comraderie among staff; lots of burnout Management treats staff like children; staff have very little power or independence

Pros

The executive director can be flexible if you prove your point.

Cons

The executive director does not take into consideration employees' feedback and often disregards their advocacy during conversations. No paid time-off 7 weeks unpaid (during the summer) If school is on a holiday break you have NO PAY for all of those days. 90-day wait to access sick-time Work culture is not the best Sick time accrual at only 2.25 per pay period.
