Pros
Great people - they hire friendly, outdoorsy, younger scientists who make work fun. Good benefits (which have diminished some since being acquired). The lab is in a beautiful location. They're willing to hire entry level people and train them on a variety of instruments so I would recommend them as a good first job.
Cons
They expect a lot out of you, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until you work your butt off and get no recognition. Salary is much lower compared with most of the industry but they justify it because "you get to live in Bend" - that was a direct quote at my exit interview. It is definitely a boys club, so if you're a woman, be prepared to be given fewer opportunities. If you're experienced, this may not be the best place for you.
