Pros

- Good work being done for equality and diversity - Most people are friendly, fun and helpful - Great summer and christmas parties - Good at filling positions with internal candidates - Science focused

Cons

- Pay much, much lower than industry average - Absolute minimum parental leave - 3 days off sick and you get investigated - Require a lengthy development plan to get promoted, and then have to wait a further 12-18 months to get your full salary - Not quick enough to sort out bullying - Expect you to be flexible but aren't flexible in return - Lack of control in manufacturing means long customer delays and out of stocks

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your experience at The Binding Site. It is great to hear your positive comments around the steps we have taken around our EDI initiatives, this is an area we feel incredibly passionate about and we have highly motivated and engaged employees leading on this to ensure it is a sustainable and successful embedded part of our company for now and the future. It is great how you have identified our internal progression as one of our strengths – we currently fill over 40% of our vacancies with our internal talent and believe that we have incredible individuals working for us who strive to do the best they can for our patients. It is our people who create and nurture our friendly and welcoming working environment which is highlighted frequently. I am disappointed to hear about a number of your concerns one of which is around salaries, we do carry out salary benchmarking annually to ensure we are competitive across the industry, however I do appreciate industry salaries do vary compared to experience, knowledge and skillset. You have stated that in your case and potentially other cases the salary has been 50% higher. We are currently in progress of reviewing our current salary benchmarking and are keen to understand if there are specific examples and gaps, therefore if you would like to speak to us directly then please come and have an open dialogue with us in HR. In terms of parental leave and flexibility we are committed to promote equality and work life balance through our workforce and during the last 14 months this is something we have taken very seriously. We have a significant proportion of our workforce working flexibly and we actively support this to ensure that we can create a diverse and balanced environment. We are also highly committed to the Health and Wellbeing of our employees and have implemented so many new initiatives and benefits to support this further e.g. Medicash benefit which offers variety of benefits including advice & emotional support 365 days a year. If you do not feel that you have received the parental leave that you are entitled to or you feel wellbeing could be improved please come and speak to us so we can review this further and see where further improvements could be made. The comments around bullying are concerning, we have a robust, zero tolerance policy in place to deal with such cases, it is something that we simply do not tolerate in our business. We appreciate that sometimes it can take time to look into concerns to ensure that we are thorough and consistent in our approach, however this does not reduce the vigour and severity in which we view allegations. If anyone feels that this is taking place in our business they must speak to their manager or HR to enable us to look into this further. We welcome your feedback and if you have anything further please contact HR@bindingsite.com.

Pros

I've been with the Binding Site for less than two years and it's been a great experience so far. Not only has it been fun to be part of such a diverse team, but it's good to know that the Binding Site has team members that have been with the company for more than 15 years (a few past 20+ years). My professional development is important to my manager and to the company; we all have the tools available for continuous growth. I look forward to a long career and more challenging opportunities.

Cons

More opportunities for field employees to interact with in-house employees

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience working at the Binding Site. We are always excited to hear that our employees are as enthusiastic two years into their employment as they were when they started. We do recognize that it is becoming more difficult to bring all of our employees together in one place. We will continue to have an “All Employee Event” as part of our National Sales Meeting and with the addition of our Demo Room and larger conference rooms in the San Diego office, we have seen an increase in the number of visits our field employees are making to the office. We hope that you and all of our employees will take advantage of these opportunities to interact with colleagues.
