Pros

Company has great people, smart and usually very friendly. Technology is not cutting edge but decent. Pay is average or a bit less.

Cons

layoff of 5.7% person Feb 10th all across organization. 400+. I was one of them. Usually 2 weeks per year plus PTO and Medical payments covered for 6 months. Since a California WARN notice, we all got 2 months "paid Administration leave" ... email/slack/computer locked up 2 minutes after being notified. No goodbye emails.

Bio-Rad Laboratories Response

Thank you for this feedback. We understand you were part of Bio-Rad’s recent restructuring plan, and we wish you well. For others who may be curious about it, we offer the following… Bio-Rad recently made important organizational changes to improve its ongoing operating performance. This primarily impacted our operations in the United States and included the elimination of certain positions, the consolidation of some functions, and the relocation of specific operations. This affected approximately 5% of our overall global workforce. These actions were important and necessary to respond to market conditions and economic realities. Bio-Rad's senior leadership did not enter them lightly. Further, Bio-Rad will take what steps it can to support employees directly affected, including offering cash severance payments, extended healthcare benefits, and related transition assistance.

Pros

I love my co workers and the ability to make my customers happy. Benefits are alright and I do like the products.

Cons

Modern marketing is non existent and the company has been taken over by sweater vest tech bros who feel phony at best. This company is too large to innovate or be nimble, yet too small to acquire new things to sell. Salaries are just so low now that I might need to leave, then come back just to get a pay raise. I’m seeing similar jobs posted for 20% more base than I make 10 years in. No transparency on advancements and annual raises do not reflect effort and making too close to plan on sales just sets you up for failure in the next year. I’d say use this company for a few years then move on.
